Timber harvesting is an essential part of forest management. Experienced landowners know the harvesting equipment used and are accustomed to the process of timber harvesting. New and beginning landowners that are starting to manage their forest often do not have this knowledge. The purpose of this publication is to provide landowners with an overview of common mechanized harvesting equipment in South Carolina.
