Abstract

The first part of the document explores the literature for industrial ecology, starting with the motivations and the resource considerations that are driving the advancement of industrial ecology. The literature review explores industrial ecology applications, programs of practice across four continents, and its linkage to sustainability movements. The methodology chapter introduces the research aims and guiding questions, which informed the case study selection and evaluation process. In essence, these chapters would not be considered part of the toolkit, however they provided the foundational bases and directives for the design, and completion of the toolkit section.
