Abstract

The purpose of this quasi-experimental study was to examine the effects of receiving various types of information about an impending event (physical therapy) on subjects' anxiety levels. The sixty subjects, age 55 and over, were selected from an orthopedic unit and were anticipating their first visit to physical therapy for ambulation training.
