Wirestem is a disease that affects many vegetable brassica or cole crops in South Carolina and the southeastern United States. Disease is most severe on young plants grown in the fall in heavy soils. Several different management practices reduce the number of plants affected with wirestem. This fact sheet is useful for vegetable growers, Extension agents, and crop consultants.
