Abstract

In this work, we investigate the accuracy and efficiency of a space-time domain decomposition algorithm applied to a fluid structure interaction problem. This two properties were investigated by comparing the results against the more standard approach whereby the problem is discretized uniformly in time. This was achieved by comparing various measures of the error and the running time between the two methods when applied to an exact solution. It was found that this approach results in comparable errors and a greater stability at the expense of longer running times.
